Welcome to Untangled.
Untying knots in the stories and beliefs we carry. Finding our footing in Divine love. Learning to pay better attention to our lives.
Last week I took a long shower after three days of utter chaos. From morning to night, my schedule was packed and I couldn’t catch my breath. Finally, with hot water massaging my back, I relaxed my shoulders into place and let an aloe vera deep conditioning treatment perform magic on my hair. A few minutes later, a bobby pin fell to the floor between my feet. My first thought? I can’t remember the last time I put a bobby pin in my hair!
It was probably hiding up there for days, but I didn’t notice until my hair untangled.
It reminds me of a story in the book of Exodus, when Moses saw a burning bush and thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the bush does not burn up.”1
That strange sight, of course, was holy ground.
If we’re paying attention, most days present a similar opportunity— a holy moment to separate truth from untruth, harm from health, and fractures from wholeness. These invitations don’t typically present as burning bushes, but as conversations with friends, therapy sessions, song melodies, still whispers in our hearts, journaling, studying, and bobby pins between our feet. These moments draw attention to knots in the stories we’ve been telling ourselves.
This is why I created Untangled.
It’s about embracing each day as a mirror; an opportunity to see yourself, God, and others more clearly.
It’s about finding our footing in Divine love and bravely exploring truth in all her prismatic glory.
It’s about learning to pay better attention to our lives. Learning to notice strange sights.
It’s about gently untying any knots that prevent us from living in wholeness.
I hope you come along for the journey. Click the button below to subscribe and tell your friends!

Writing Prompt: Read the following quote from Frederick Buechner:
“Listen to your life. See it for the fathomless mystery it is. In the boredom and pain of it, no less than in the excitement and gladness: touch, taste, smell your way to the holy and hidden heart of it, because in the last analysis all moments are key moments, and life itself is grace.”
Take 7 minutes to write freely. If you need help, start with the phrase, “I’m listening…”
